How to add additional fields from customer master record to Sales Analysis

Sales Pad Sales Analysis  relies on dwCustomer_dim table for all of its customer master information.  However Sales Pad does not bring all the customer master fields which is a restricting factor in constructing useful sales analysis reports.  In this post how we can add additional customer master fields to sales pad sales analysis is explored.

Step 1: Create new view adding the dwCustomer_dim, RM00101, RM00102 and properly link these tables. dwcusotmerdim

Step 2: Select the additional fields which are required to be populated at Sales Analysis.

Step 3: Save the view and  note the view name.

Step 4: Modify the sppSalesAnalysis stored procedure.  First change the “from” section, replace the table dwCustomer_dim with the new view which was created.salesSanlysis

The update has to be made at two sections of the query created by the if clause.

step 5: Add the new fields to the select statements.sppsalessalesanalysis

Step 6: Update the modified stored procedure.  The new fields should be appearing at the Sales Analysis.salesanalysisfields
